Edna Valley Wine Tour
Cool-Climate Wines, Coastal Views, and Zero Driving Stress
A Different Side of Central Coast Wine Country
Paso Robles gets the spotlight, but Edna Valley has a secret that wine lovers keep coming back for. Tucked just south of San Luis Obispo — barely 10 minutes from downtown — this small, coastal-influenced AVA produces some of the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in California. Morning fog rolls in from the Pacific, temperatures stay cool, and the growing season stretches out long and slow. The result is wines with genuine elegance: bright, nuanced, nothing like the bold reds you'll find inland.
We've been taking groups through Edna Valley for years. We know which tasting rooms are worth your time, which spots have the best views, and how to sequence a day so it flows beautifully. All you have to do is show up and enjoy.
What We Handle for Your Edna Valley Wine Tour
Transportation Edna Valley's tasting rooms are spread out along Orcutt Road, Biddle Ranch Road, and Edna Road. They're beautiful drives — but not ones you want to navigate after a few flights. We pick you up from your hotel, rental, or home in Paso Robles or SLO and handle every mile.
Reservations and Bookings Most Edna Valley tasting rooms are small and intimate — some require appointments. We know the ones worth calling ahead for, and we'll take care of it all before the day starts.
A Full-Day Itinerary Built Around You Prefer crisp whites? Love a bold Pinot? Want to mix in lunch in downtown SLO between stops? Tell us what you're after and we'll design the day around your group.
Our Favorite Edna Valley Wine Stops
Tolosa Winery
One of the anchors of Edna Valley, Tolosa is named after the old San Luis Obispo Mission and lives up to the legacy. Their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are consistently excellent, and the tasting room is beautiful — open, modern, and surrounded by working vineyard. It's a great first stop for anyone new to the area.
Chamisal Vineyards
Planted in 1973, Chamisal has the deepest roots in Edna Valley. Their estate Chardonnay is the benchmark for the appellation — mineral-driven, layered, and nothing like the buttery stuff you might expect. The setting is tranquil and the pours are generous. A must on any Edna Valley day.
Biddle Ranch Vineyard
This is the intimate, family-feel stop that groups always love. Biddle Ranch sits right in the heart of the valley with sweeping views of the Santa Lucia range, an outdoor patio, and small-batch wines that are hard to find anywhere else. It's the kind of place you linger.
Baileyana / Tangent / True Myth
One property, four distinct labels, and a tasting room housed in the historic 1909 Independence Schoolhouse. It's one of the most charming settings in the valley and a great place to explore the range of what Edna Valley can produce — from textbook Chardonnay to more experimental whites under the Tangent label. There's often live music on weekends.
“We had a great time in Paso Robles much thanks to Paso Robles Wine Tours. From planning our trip and getting quick responses to all our questions, to visiting 3 wineries during the day, they were great to work with. We don't know the area. Their expertise and suggestions made for an unforgettable day where we got a great feel for the area and tasted many great wines. Thank you!”

About 30–35 minutes down Highway 101. It's an easy, scenic drive and we make it all the time. We frequently build combination days that start in Edna Valley and finish in Paso — or vice versa — so you can taste the full range of what San Luis Obispo County has to offer.
-
Absolutely — it's one of our most popular itinerary options. A great combination is starting with cool-climate whites in Edna Valley in the morning, then heading north for big Paso Robles reds in the afternoon. We time everything so it flows naturally.
-
The region is most famous for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The coastal climate keeps things cooler here than inland Paso Robles, which means the wines are generally more delicate, with brighter acidity and more nuance. If you love whites or lighter-bodied reds, Edna Valley is your place.
-
Yes — we pick up from hotels, rentals, and homes throughout SLO, Paso Robles, Pismo Beach, and the surrounding area. Just let us know where you're staying.
