The Best Wineries in Paso Robles 2025

Paso Robles isn’t just another wine region… it’s the soul of California wine country! Abundant with authenticity. It’s where you meet winemakers that care more about their soil and where the wines speak for themselves. Scenery ranges from golden hills at one winery to sweeping vineyard vistas at the next, only minutes away. Add in a vibrant food scene, quirky tasting rooms, luxury estates, hidden gems, and the kind of friendly, no-B.S. hospitality that defines the Central Coast. Here, we’ve got something no other region can offer.

Now, when it comes to "the best wineries"… let’s be honest, it’s impossible to be objective. Every wine lover has their own preferences and maybe you’re all about the view, or maybe it’s the pizza, or maybe it’s just about a place that feels like home. But after giving thousands of wine tours, we do know what people consistently love. So we’re breaking it down by category and our own cheeky Paso-style “awards.”

Best View

DAOU – Obvious? Yes. Deserved? Also yes. This hilltop estate feels like you're drinking wine at the edge of the world. If you're here for the panorama photoshoot, this is your mecca.
Calcareous – Take your glass and sit outside atop a steep hill. Views looking all the way down into Paso with a ton of outdoor seating.
Law Estate – Sleek, modern, and perched perfectly to catch the light. It’s one of the highest places in Paso, offering a top notch view and vibe.

Best Lunch

Niner Wine Estates – Farm-to-table done right. Their on-site kitchen sources local ingredients and bakes their bread fresh. You’ll be talking about that bread for weeks.
Calcareous (Again!) – Yes, they’re back. Because their food program is just that good. You can eat well and stare out at that epic view. Win-win.
Barton Family Wines – Hidden gem alert: they’ve got a sneaky-good distillery in the back and a kitchen turning out creative seasonal bites. Wine not your thing? There’s a cocktail with your name on it.
Cass Winery – Wood-fired pizzas, fresh produce, picnic tables. It’s casual but elevated—and yes, the pizza does pair with rosé.

Best Architecture

Epoch Estate Wines – A gorgeous blend of old and new. The restored York Mountain tasting room is chef’s kiss—a little wine history, a lot of style.
Booker – Ultra-modern and sleek, but still welcoming. The kind of place that makes you want to redecorate your entire home.
Law – A masterclass in design. Think: sharp lines, soft light, and perfect use of stone and steel.

🥂 Best White Wines

Monochrome Wines – All white wine. All the time. The winemaker is deeply passionate and it shows. Intimate, geeky (in the best way), and unforgettable.
Paix Sur Terre – Beautiful, expressive whites that hold their own against the region’s reds. And that label art? Iconic.
Rava Wines – A hidden gem on the East Side with refreshing whites and a sparkling wine program worth toasting to. Live music on many of the summer weekends.

Best History

Brecon Estate – Home to some of the oldest vines in the region. Plus, the cave-like tasting room is just cool.
Epoch – Again, that restored tasting room has roots that go deep into Paso’s winemaking past.
Eberle Winery – The OG of Paso Robles. You can thank Gary Eberle for helping put Paso on the wine map. Still family-owned, still welcoming, still pouring solid wines.

Overall Favorite (from one of our drivers!)

Emma’s Pick: Epoch Estate Wines

“It’s everything. The winding drive in. The architecture. The view. The wine. It’s luxury without being pretentious. Their staff is the most genuinely kind and knowledgeable crew you’ll ever meet. And Levi—their resident cat—is the real star of Paso. Honestly, it’s hard to beat.” – Emma, Paso Robles Wine Tours driver
